Understanding wet belts
Why deterioration matters
A wet belt runs inside the engine oil. As it deteriorates, belt material can enter the lubrication system and restrict the oil-pump pickup. Reduced oil flow can lead to low oil pressure and engine damage. Replacement is about checking what is happening inside the engine as well as fitting a new belt.
More than just the timing belt
On engines with a separate wet belt driving the oil pump, BBM replaces that belt as part of the job where applicable. We inspect the oil system for belt debris and contamination, and deal with the sump and oil-pump pickup as required.
Genuine belt components
For the critical belt-drive components, BBM Garage uses genuine timing belts, oil-pump belts and the relevant genuine rollers and tensioners. Send us your registration so we can confirm the engine, the work required and a quote for your vehicle.
